Skyscanner Hackathon!

The Skyscanner x dressCode hackathon was incredible!

From the venue and speakers to the volunteers, challenge, and senior mentors, everything came together perfectly. But the true stars were the S1/2 pupils! Arriving with no prior experience in text-based coding, they all left having built multi-page websites, complete with brands, logos, and slogans in a short period of time. Hopefully, they also left with a lasting impression of the opportunities tech can open for them.

Events like this are crucial for pupils—giving them hands-on experience in a real industry setting and connecting them with role models working in tech.

We cannot thank Skyscanner enough, particularly Christopher Luby, Emma McEneaney, and all the volunteers who made the day so special. Their efforts have undoubtedly made ripples in the schools who attended and a lasting impact on the pupils that participated. We couldn't think of anything better to do on the eve of #AdaLovelace day.
